Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond? Yes. A lab grown diamond has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. The only difference is that it is grown in a laboratory rather than extracted from the earth. It is graded by the same laboratories using the same criteria.

What color and clarity is the diamond in this ring? The oval center stone is E color and VVS2 clarity. E is in the colorless range, and VVS2 means inclusions are very difficult to see even under ten times magnification, so the stone is completely eye clean.

What is a split shank? The band separates into two strands before it reaches the setting instead of continuing as one solid piece. It creates an open space either side of the head, which draws the eye toward the stone and makes the ring look lighter than its width suggests.

Why combine a split shank with a bezel? A bezel is the most solid way to hold a stone, and a split shank is the most open way to carry a band. Putting them together balances the two, so the ring reads as substantial at the head and delicate at the sides.

Is a split shank harder to resize? It is more involved than a plain band because both strands have to stay even, so we would rather make it to your size from the start. Tell us your size at checkout, or ask us for a free ring sizer first.
