Peek-a-Boo Stones: The Secret Sparkle Only You Know About
A peek-a-boo stone is a small gem hidden in a ring โ inside the band or tucked in the setting โ where only the wearer usually sees it. It's the most personal detail a ring can have.

Short answer
A peek-a-boo stone is a small stone set somewhere hidden โ on the inside of the band, in the side of the setting or beneath the centre stone โ visible mostly to the wearer. It adds a private, meaningful touch. A stone inside the band must sit perfectly flush for comfort, and its position should be kept away from the part of the band that might be resized.
Hidden details have a long tradition in jewelry: engraved inscriptions, secret compartments, a gem only the owner knows about. A peek-a-boo stone is the modern version โ a little flash of light that's just for you.
Where peek-a-boo stones go
| Position | Who sees it |
|---|---|
| Inside the band | Only the wearer, when the ring is off |
| Side of the setting | Anyone looking at the ring from the side |
| Under the centre stone | Glimpsed through the gallery |
From the bench in Surat
A stone inside the band sits against the skin all day, so it has to be set perfectly flush โ you shouldn't be able to feel it at all when you run a fingertip round the inside. We also place it on the upper part of the band, near the centre stone, because resizing happens at the bottom of the band. A peek-a-boo stone at the base would have to be removed and reset during any resize. If you'd like a meaningful stone โ a birthstone colour or a small moissanite โ ask for it at the time of ordering, when it's simplest to add.
