You get the architectural shape people want with the fire of a round, and because a radiant spreads its weight across the face it looks larger than a round of the same carat.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eThe halo you only see from the side\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe halo sits below the girdle inside the basket, so it does not change the outline of the stone from above. It does two things. It bounces light up through the pavilion, which makes the centre read brighter, and it fills the space between the stone and the shank so the ring does not look empty in profile. Anyone looking at your hand from across a table sees it; you mostly do not.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003ePave that stops halfway\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe shoulder stones run about halfway down each side and then the band goes plain. Pave all the way round photographs well and wears badly, because the stones under the finger take the abrasion and the ring cannot be resized without cutting through set metal. It is crystallised carbon with the same cubic structure, the same 10 on the Mohs scale, the same refractive index of 2.42 and the same dispersion as a mined stone. Ours are grown by chemical vapour deposition and high pressure high temperature methods, then cut and polished by hand. This is not moissanite, not cubic zirconia and not a simulant. It states the carat weight, the E colour grade, the VVS2 clarity grade, the measurements and the girdle inscription, and confirms in writing that the stone is laboratory grown. The hidden halo is set into the basket before the head is joined to the shank, since it cannot be reached afterwards, and the pave is bead set by hand with both shoulders matched to each other before the band is closed.
