There is no halo of any kind under the girdle, hidden or otherwise, so the head is simply four claws and open air. The accent run does not continue round the finger either: it travels a short way down each shoulder and then stops, leaving the palm side as plain polished metal. And the stones are kept the same size as one another rather than graduating towards the head. What remains is the rhythm itself, a long pointed marquise followed by a small round, repeated three times on each side, with a short bar of bright metal between every stone. Because there is nothing else happening on the ring, that alternation is easy to read from across a room, which is not true of the same idea on a ring that also carries a halo and a full eternity of stones.
